Tuesday 30-June-2026 June has been a busy month with many projects being worked on by members. Garden bench refurbishment has taken up most of the days when the shed has been open during the fine spell of warm, sunny weather. An interesting project was the refurbishment of a garden bench which also converted into a table. Benches and chairs were also supplied for the Cluny Walled Garden project at Cluny, Sauchen.
The Music Group and Art Group have also had a good turn out of members attending their sessions and new members are always welcome.
Thursday 21-May-2026 An enjoyable evening with a meal followed by games of Bingo was held at the Ashvale Restaurant, Inverurie to raise funds for the Men’s Shed. Members, family and friends gathered at the restaurant, 40 in all, to enjoy a delicious meal and participate in bingo with raffles. Prizes were were kindly provided by those attending. Staff from Marks & Spencer, Inverurie, having seen on Facebook that the event was happening also provided some prizes for the raffle. Many thanks for their kind contributions.
Saturday 16-May-2026 Inverurie and District Men’s Shed held an Open Day at their Harlaw Way premises on Saturday 16-May-2026 from 11:00am to 3:00pm . As well as showcasing the updated buildings and facilities, on display were completed items created or refurbished by members at the Men’s Shed. There was also a tool sale of items that had been donated to the Men’s Shed. Soup, sandwiches and refreshments were also available to the members and visitors attending the event. It is hoped that new members will be encouraged to join and be involved in the various aspects of the Men’s Shed. The Picture Gallery gives a selection of pictures about the IDMS Open Day.
Saturday 9-May-2026 Inverurie and District Men’s Shed(IDMS) had a stall at the Farmers Market at Inverurie Town Hall where a variety of goods made by members of IDMS and a selection of tools were on offer.
Wednesday 06-May-2026 A new web site is being developed and members are encouraged to contribute short articles on latest news, events and projects at the Men’s Shed. The web site and the Facebook pages will be regularly updated with this information.
Upcoming Events
Every Monday and Thursday 10am to 4pm – Inverurie and District Men’s Shed Harlaw Way premises are open for members to come along and work on projects or just socialise with others. Prospective members are encouraged to come along and see the facilities and activities that are available.
Tool Sale – When the Shed is open, anyone can come along and look at the good selection of tools that are available. No reasonable offer refused! The Picture Gallery gives a selection of tools that are available.
Saturday 8-August-2026 9am to 1pm (every second Saturday of the month) Inverurie Farmers Monthly Market featuring produce from the local area. Inverurie and District Men’s Shed will have a stall at this event featuring items made by Men’s Shed members and also a good selection of hand tools available.
