IDMS Facilities
Inverurie and District Men’s Shed initially had one workshop building at 19 Harlaw Way and portacabins for a social area.
On 28-March-2025, Inverurie Men’s Shed officially took ownership of the complete site at Unit 19 Harlaw Way. This has doubled the workshop space available to the Men’s Shed and also provided more space for office facilities and craft activities. More storage space is also available within the new building.
A programme of priorities for the maintenance, utilisation and decoration of the new building was drawn up and this work was completed by IDMS members and Hosie Electrical within a few months.
This has resulted in excellent facilities housed within two main buildings with a reception office, workshops and craft areas and portacabins with a social area, kitchen and toilets.

Social Area Facilities
In our portacabins we have a well equipped kitchen, toilet facilities and a social area, complete with a wood burning stove.
This creates a warm and welcoming environment for relaxing and having a laugh over a cup of tea or coffee. You can also take part in various pastimes and activities such as Chess, Jigsaws, Backgammon, Draughts, Shuv Ha’penny and Card Games.
The social area is also where we have regular talks and discussions on a variety of topics including health, well being and other matters of interest, usually led by external speakers.
Soup and a chat sessions take place on some Wednesdays during the winter months. Why not come along mid-morning, have a coffee, a chat and perhaps a game of cards followed by a bowl of homemade soup.
Allotments and Community Farm
IDMS also have access to an area of land on Old Port Road which is used for a community farm and allotments.
